How Do You Win Prizes With the Powerball?

You win the Powerball jackpot if the five main numbers and the additional Powerball numbers match those you chose when filling out your Powerball entry form! If only some of your numbers match, you could still be entitled to prizes in Powerball’s eight additional prize categories.

If you are lucky enough to win the Powerball jackpot, you can choose whether to receive your prize in a one-time lump sum cash payment or in annuity payments.

When you win a prize with NJ Powerball, we will notify you by email/SMS. Prizes up to $600 will be paid into your personal account at theLotter NJ commission-free shortly after they are received from the New Jersey Lottery. If you win a larger prize or the Powerball jackpot, you will need to collect it person at the New Jersey Lottery’s offices. Powerball lottery winnings are subject to tax.
